Support the One Child, One Instrument Initiative this Giving Tuesday

We at Loog strongly believe that expanding music education to every single kid in the world -for any instrument they want to play- is our own little way of making a better world for the future. So, this year, we decided to partner up with the “One Child, One Instrument” initiative for Giving Tuesday.

During all of today, we’ll be donating a percentage of sales to this project and what it stands for.

The “One Child, One Instrument” program focuses on teaching kids and teens from Latin America how to play orchestra instruments, as a way to broaden access to culture through musical learning.

This includes providing kids and teens with their very own instruments, a practice space, and free classes geared towards kids between 6 and 14 years old. These free classes teach kids how to play their provided orchestra instrument, whether it’s a string instrument (violin, viola, violoncello and double bass), a woodwind instrument (flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon), a brass instrument (horn, trumpet, trombone, tuba) or percussion. Some of these centers also offer music therapy and choir classes.

Learning an instrument teaches them to value effort and consistency, discipline, develop their focus and sense of responsibility, and boosts their self-esteem. But, above all, these classes and the orchestra experience allow kids to feel as a part of something bigger than just themselves, offering them a perfect chance to practice respect for their peers and teamwork.

Because, we believe music education should be a right and not a privilege. And the only way to make that happen, is by supporting organizations and initiatives such as this one, which expand access and provide the tools and resources necessary for ALL kids to give music a chance. So thank you, in advance, for helping us support this. You’ll be making a lot of Latin American kids very, very happy.
