The Loog Guitar is not only fun and easy, it is also convenient. You can start with the short-scale model, recommended for kids ages 6 to 9, and when the little player is not that little any more, you can replace the neck of the guitar without the need to buy a whole new instrument. Just swap the old short-scale neck for the new long-scale neck and you are ready to go.

And because The Loog Guitar comes with nylon strings, not only it is easy for kids to play, it is also easy on their hands.

Our story

The Loog Guitar started as a master’s thesis at NYU and was launched in March 2011 via Kickstarter, a fundraising website for creative projects. We set the goal to raise $15,000 and instead ended up raising $65,618 from people all over the world who believed in the project and wanted to play a part in bringing this idea to life. Thanks to them, Loog Guitars are now in production and will be ready to ship in May 2011.

Why 3 strings? What are the benefits?

We love 6-string guitars, but we believe that they can be overwhelming for little kids and beginners. The Loog Guitar, with its 3 strings, makes it easier for kids to tune, play and listen to the notes they are playing. It is a more stimulating experience that allows children to play music right from the start.

Why does it come unassembled?

Building a guitar is an essential part of understanding and loving the instrument. When you build your own guitar you develop a deep connection with it, and that is why The Loog Guitar ships unassembled for parents and children to build at home.

Can I play ANY song on a 3-string guitar?

Yes. In fact, a regular chord in a standard 6-string guitar is usually comprised of no more than 3 notes. The Loog Guitar allows you to play real chords and virtually any song.

Is The Loog Guitar only for kids?

Absolutely not. We designed them for kids (6 and up), but they are certainly suitable for anybody who likes to play guitar.

How long does it take to assemble?

Around 15 minutes. It is that easy.

When and where can I buy a Loog Guitar?
