Loog and STEAM
STEAM is an evolutionary step to the educational approach known as STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math). In STEAM, A stands for arts. Educators, artists and scientists behind the STEAM appoach believe in stimulating inquiry, dialogue and critical thinking among students. This results in students who take thoughtful risks, engage in experiential learning, persist in problem solving, embrace collaboration, and work through the creative process. As opposed to traditional education settings where each subject is taught with independence from each other (separate math time, separate science time) STEAM emulates the real world, where knowledge is interlaced, layered and sophisticated. It provides the keystones for every child to be successful in college, work, and life. Loog Guitars fully embrace the STEAM philosophy as they combine the mathematic and physical comprehension of notes, scales, chords and sounds, artistic exploration and group interaction. And by playing their Loog, students will be working on almost every level of their cognitive skills: memory, mental processing speed, verbal fluency, creative thinking and focus. And its not just about hard skills: children who play a musical instrument are more likely to stay in school, be better team players, less aggressive and more cooperative with teachers. Playing a musical instrument enables kids to better express their ideas and accept criticism, and improves their critical thinking and problem solving. There are less fights and more inclusion in schools with good music programs. We think that those exposed to STEAM education will be the leaders and innovators of the 21st century. We hope we can partner up to work toward this goal together, spreading the love of music and its vast benefits to all kids, worldwide.
